A building has been evacuated and a police cordon put in place in Bridgend after a car collided with a wall on Coity Road.

South Wales Police said officers were called to Coity Road at around 12:43pm on Monday 19 October following a report of a road traffic collision.

When officers arrived, they found that the driver had sustained injuries that are not believed to be linked to the collision. The driver has been taken to hospital.

Police said a significant policing presence remains in the Ger-y-nant area while officers work to understand the events leading up to the collision.

The building was evacuated and the cordon put in place to maintain public safety, the force said.

People are being asked to avoid the area to help emergency services access the scene.
