Police have confirmed that suspended Sergeant Fannie Nkosi has resigned from the South African Police Service  (SAPS). This comes as Nkosi faces a string of serious misconduct charges and mounting heat over alleged illegal activities.

These include theft, fraud, defeating the ends of justice, unlawful possession of explosives and multiple counts of failing to safeguard firearms and ammunition.

A raid on his Pretoria home uncovered six original police dockets, state-owned ammunition, a stun grenade, and over R52,000 in cash.
