A man has been charged with the murder of a woman found lying outside her Newcastle home with multiple stab wounds after an alleged domestic violence attack.
Police and paramedics called to the Mayfield home about 10.40pm on Friday tried to save the 21-year-old woman but she died at the scene.
Officers arrested a 22-year-old man, who was taken to hospital for treatment for a hand injury.

On Sunday, police charged him with murder, entering a dwelling with intent and breaching an apprehended domestic violence order.
He is due to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Monday after being refused bail.
