Mandy and Trevor Watson said they used their daughter's medieval sword fighting gear and a pair of welding gloves to remove the unexpected visitor.

"She does medieval sword fighting so she had these monster gloves on which I think even a brown snake couldn't get through, so that was good," Ms Watson said.

"Trevor had some welding gloves."

The family filmed the encounter, showing the snake curled around the radio.

Once placed in a protective pillow case, the family released it back to nearby bushland.
