Pakistan High Commission gifts computers, sewing machines and  food in Central Sri Lanka

Colombo, Juy 1 (newsin.asia): The Pakistani High Commissioner Maj. Gen. (R) Umar Farook Burki and   CG Afzal Marikar participated in a ceremony at Kongahamulla Kipalaraamaya temple, Matale, for donating computers for a school & setting up IT lab for village students & sewing machines to set up training Center to empower women.

The  Principal of the Kawudupella Maha Vidyalaya was also given a gift of a computer and football & cricket gear.

The chief incumbent thanked the people of Pakistan, a friendly country, for always supporting Sri Lanka In times of need.

The venerable Monk also thanked Afzal Marikar for building & gifting an Awaasagey built for residence of the priest of the temple. He said it was a historic moment where the High Commissioner of a foreign county was able open this building – a historic & unforgettable occasion.

HE Maj. Gen. (R) Umar Farooq Burki HI (M) said he was delighted to visit & inaugurate the building & was touched by warmth & gratitude expressed by the community & the Chief incumbent of the temple. He also distributed dry ration food packs among the poor people of the village.
