A 20-year-old Queensland man has been charged with murder after a body was found at a Brisbane train station this morning.

Police allege a fight broke out between two groups of men at the Fortitude Valley Train Station around 4am before 24-year-old Lauie Tagaloa was fatally stabbed.

Witnesses and police attempted to provide CPR and first aid to Tagaloa until paramedics arrived but he could not be saved.

The incident was caught on graphic CCTV video, showing Tagaloa on the floor as his alleged attacker left the scene.

"Police were watching the Brisbane City Council CCTV when they observed a disturbance taking place in the public thoroughfare of the Fortitude Valley Railway Station," regional duty officer Sean Cryer from Queensland Police said.

"On closer examination, they saw a male person lying on the ground, the persons nearby had blood on them.

"We immediately dispatched the QAS and uniform crews to the railway station.

"Unfortunately, he could not be saved and was declared life extinct at the scene."

Three men were arrested at the train station shortly after.

Police say the rail network's extensive CCTV system was integral in finding the men.

"As a result of immediate investigations at the scene, it was determined that three persons had decamped into the rear of the railway station, and a search was conducted for those persons," Cryer said.

"They were located on platform four, a weapon was located, and those three persons were taken into custody to assist police with their inquires into this matter."

A 20-year-old man from Birkdale was charged with murder.

The other two men, aged 21 and 20, were released without charge after assisting police with their enquiries.

Police said there were several witnesses to the alleged brawl, with no indication gang violence was involved.

Tagaloa's friends stayed on the scene hours after the attack and assisted with police questioning.

His family was also called to the scene of the attack.

"They are obviously distressed," Cryer said.

The young man has been described as the "most humble and loyal person" and "one of a kind" on social media.

Operation Uniform Mechanical has been established as investigations continue.
