It sometimes seems that satirists aren’t just parodying the current situation, but predicting what’s to come.

We try not to think about how many episodes of The Thick of It have seemed like prophecy over the last couple of years – and as for the pig episode of Black Mirror, the less said the better.

Most of this old Mitchell and Webb sketch could be a news broadcast – and we’re crossing our fingers it’s only most.

A TikToker named @kal_el_of_krypton0 spotted how well the clip matched the UK’s current situation and shared it with a new audience on the platform, picking up hundreds of comments like these.
