Valve is now letting you make a reservation for its official Steam Deck Docking Station. The dock will cost $89. When I made my reservation just a few minutes after reservations opened up, I was given an expected order window between October and December.

Valve’s official dock is intended to make it easier to hook up the handheld gaming PC to a monitor or television. It has three USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 ports, a gigabit ethernet port, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, and an HDMI 2.0 port. The dock connects to your Steam Deck via a USB-C cable that plugs into the USB-C port on the top of the device. It will also come with its own power supply.

The dock has been a long time coming. It wasn’t available to order when the Steam Deck first launched in February, and Valve then delayed the accessory from a “late spring” release window in June. The company blamed that delay on parts shortages and closures at its manufacturing sites.

Valve is also now letting customers buy any Steam Deck model without a reservation. Currently, they each show an estimated delivery window of within one or two weeks. However, Valve cautions that if order volume for a specific model gets too high, it will turn on the reservation button once again for that model.
