Edmonton weather: Flurries, windchill, frostbite threats do not us victims make

It’s -17 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station Saturday morning, with 15 km/h winds from the north and a wind chill of -25.

A little PSA reminder here that the city has activated its extreme weather response to help the vulnerable stay safe in the latest cold snap. ETS has dedicated overnight transportation on three routes between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. to transport people to shelters with capacity; overnight capacity has also been added at the Al Rashid Mosque to provide an addition 50 spaces. The Bissell Centre is running its Community Space from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.And Boyle Street Community Services centre is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.
