Timeless, which was released on Friday, March 31, 2023, is a 17-track project featuring a range of superstars, including his new signees, Morravey and Logos Olori.

Morravey, who took the lead on the track ‘In The Garden’ brought her distinct sound and quintessential vocals to the track. The singer and songwriter is from Port Harcourt. Meanwhile, Logos Olori, whose fans liken his vocals to Wizkid, also featured in one track, ‘Picasso’.

Aside from his signees, Davido featured stars like Asake, Skepta, Fave, Angelique Kidjo, Musa Keys, and Dexta Daps. Through the 17-track EP, Davido contributed as a songwriter to each track, a welcomed development as we got to see his growth as a songwriter.

Deviating from his usual style, fans have expressed excitement about his sound. One fan said, ‘Davido made a major music persona rebrand on this Timeless album. You can hear how calm and collected he is all through the album. Love it.’ Another fan noted that there was a change in sound on an already-hit single, Champion Sound. ‘Who else noticed that the sound of Champion Sound has changed? This new one is so smooth,’ the fan had said.

‘Champion Sound’, a single he released in 2021, featured Focalistic and since its release, has amassed over 40 million streams worldwide.

Davido is on a journey to rebranding and relaunching his record label, Davido Music Worldwide, DMW, it also seems like his sound has also followed suit. We are in the Timeless season, it’s only right that his sound evolves.
