A National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant, Stanley Nelvis Glate, believes money will not influence the voting decision of delegates in the Ho Central Constituency of the Volta Region.

He asserted that the delegates would elect an aspirant who has the experience to retain the parliamentary seat for the NDC and increase its electoral fortunes in the December 2024 general elections.

Mr. Glate was speaking to myjoyinline.com during the primaries at the premises of the Ola Senior High School in Ho. He came second in the 2019 primary where he was beaten by the current MP, Benjamin Kpodo.

“We are not trading our electoral fortunes for what we call short term pleasure. We are not ready to sacrifice our sovereignty, our independence politically, on the platter of cheap political enjoyment which can last you but few hours”, he said.

He described the 2023 primary as the most competitive elections he had participated and explained that he lost the 2019 primary due to “the dynamics of election and the role of money.”

Mr. Glate who themed his campaign “Building the Ho Central we want through experience” believes he has got the requisite expertise needed to lead the transformation agenda of the NDC in the constituency.

He is optimistic the delegates would vote and reward him for his “hard work, diligence, commitment and loyalty” to the NDC over the years.

“We are here to get the best brain that can execute the 2024 agenda to its logical conclusions”, he stressed.

Mr. Glate served as a Ho Central Constituency Secretary for the NDC between 2008 and 2018. He served two terms and resigned during the third term to contest the parliamentary primaries.
