Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season three finalist, Tobi Bakre, clinched his first Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) on Saturday, May 20, 2023, for his leading role in the 2022 Nigerian crime-action thriller ‘Brotherhood’.
With his breakout role as Andy in the 2019 film Sugar Rush, to The Blood Covenant in 2021, Bakre appears to have created a path for himself where he thrives in thriller series and action movies.
Bakre defeated other nominees Chidi Mokeme, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Tope Tedela, Femi Adebayo, O.C. Ukeje, Richard Mofe Damijo, and more in the Best Actor for a Drama category to win the prestigious award in his first nomination.
While he came into the limelight after he became the second runner-up on the third season of Africa’s Biggest Reality TV show, BBNaija, Bakre’s acting career took flight and has been featured in some of Nollywood’s notable movies, including the critically acclaimed 2023 movie Gangs Of Lagos.
