Police are appealing for witnesses after a man forced a woman out of a parked car and threw her into oncoming traffic in Perth, forcing a truck to swerve out of her way.

A silver Holden Commodore sedan was captured on camera pulling over into the emergency lane of Roe Highway heading north at around 8.30pm on Saturday, February 25.

A man inside the vehicle forced a woman out of the car, then forcibly launched her into the left lane of traffic on the 100km/h highway.

The driver of a truck in the left lane managed to swerve to avoid hitting the woman, despite another vehicle being in the right-hand lane at the time.

The man then forced the woman back into the Commodore and drove away.

West Australia's Sex Assault Squad detectives are investigating, and have asked the driver of both the truck and the right-lane vehicle to come forward.
