There’s nothing more glorious than a plate full of delicious carbohydrates, the building blocks of all the best meals. Whether covered in cheese or smothered in sauce, the greatest thing you can treat yourself to is a plateful of carbs.

Canadian poutine, Poutine World

Article content

(Booth E, 4 tickets)

Incredible fries, piled high with cheese all swimming in gravy; true Canadians rejoice at the king of the carb-based foods. The French fries in this poutine heaven were the perfect crispiness, able to withstand the gravy bath without turning to mush. Topped with both cheese curds and grated cheese, it’s the one place you will want to stop for poutine.

Cheddar/potato perogy, Yo Baba!

(Booth 22, 3 tickets)

Sometimes a perogy is often just a perogy, but these bite-sized potato pockets are covered in sour cream and delectable brown-heaven, fried onions that are cooked to perfection. These tiny pearls of salty goodness burst in your mouth with every bite. I would pay two tickets to get just a plateful of onions. The perogies are good, but the fried onions steal the show.

Mac & cheese in a waffle cup, Smac & Cheese

(Booth 28, 4 tickets)

The sum is greater than its parts, the exact phrase to be used with this dish of very passable waffle cups filled with macaroni and cheese. When all combined, this item sings at the delectable intersection of sweet and salty, crunchy and creamy. Ditch the fork and dive in with your face, looking for bites that include both some waffle cone and cheesy noodles — dinner and dessert, together in a dish that doubles as its own container.
