Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu on Friday demanded that police clamp down on violence occurring at the country’s beaches.

“Because the weekend is starting and the seaside resorts will probably be full of tourists, I want to call on the law enforcement to be very firm in enforcing the law. People want law and order,” Ciolacu said, according to Romanian outlet Digi24.

A spate of violence has broken out in recent days at Romanian seaside resorts, with tourists fighting police, lifeguards and each other — and Ciolacu is fed up.

He demanded that police show “zero tolerance” toward anyone causing carnage at the Black Sea coast, as the region readies for another weekend of blazing sunshine, high temperatures and cold beers.

“The policemen and the gendarmes have my full support, of the entire government and of all the people of common sense in this country,” Ciolacu added Friday.

In one seaside scrap this week police were called after two people were beaten up by a group of men at the beach, which then escalated into an all-out brawl involving cops, lifeguards and tourists. At another resort, a lifeguard was injured and two aggressors were taken to hospital after a beach battle. In another video clip, an officer was filmed beating and kicking a man, and continuing to do so while he was lying on the ground.
