Man shot, car slams into home in chaotic night in Sydney’s west

A man was shot and a Mercedes crashed into a house in Sydney's west overnight in potentially linked incidents.

At about 9.20pm, police were called to a carpark on Canterbury Road, Campsie, after reports a man had been injured.

A 27-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to his head and chest.

He was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

At about the same time, emergency services were called to Kilkee Avenue in Kingsgrove after reports of a car fire.

A Mercedes sedan had crashed into a house before catching on fire.

The blaze has been extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Police are investigating whether the incidents are linked.
