Afro-centric music is on the move again as we countdown to the Trace Awards 2023. The excitement is building to a fever pitch among fans of African music as Davido, Asake, and Kizz Daniel are set to perform at the Trace Awards 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda, on Saturday, October 21.
Launched in 2003, the global music powerhouse, Trace, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with performances from a star-studded lineup, including Davido, Asake, Kizz Daniel, Black Sherif (Ghana), Benjamin Dube (South Africa), Blxckie (South Africa), Bruce Melodie (Rwanda), Didi B (Ivory Coast), and many more.
Targeted at lovers of African and Afro-inspired music and culture, the event promises to enthral music fans and lovers around the continent as they get to enjoy live performances from their favourite artistes all on Trace TV (DStv channel 325).
With more than 150 artists nominated in 25 award categories, the Trace awards is also aimed at celebrating the excellence and diversity of African and Afro-centric music in different genres including Afrobeat, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Afro-pop, Mbalax, Amapiano, Zouk, Kizomba, Genge, Coupé Décalé, Bongo Flava, Soukous, Gospel, Rap, Rai, Kompa, R&B, and Rumba.
Nigeria’s very own Davido, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, Kizz Daniel, Rema, Ayra Starr, Fireboy DML, Yemi Alade, Odumodublvck, Nissi, BNXN, Show Dem Camp, are nominated in different categories including Best Artist Africa, Best Male Artist, Best Female Artist, Song of the Year, and others.
