A teenager who died in a car crash on Sydney's Northern Beaches is being remembered as five of his mates remain in hospital.
Cohen Griggs-Bufton, 16, was killed after the ute he was in slammed into a tree in Bayview at 12.20am.
Mum Lindy Griggs paid tribute to her son in a statement on Saturday, describing the teen as "an amazing young man who was just starting to enjoy his young adult life."

"He will be missed dearly and all of the family will be striving to do all the things that Cohen will miss out on. Love you Cohen," she said.
When officers arrived at the scene on Cabbage Tree Road in the early hours of Saturday morning, they found six boys injured.
Four of the boys, aged 17 and 16, were sitting in the back seat of the ute when it collided with the tree, NSW Police confirmed.
Griggs-Bufton was sitting in the passenger seat.
A second passenger was airlifted to hospital and four others were taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital by paramedics.
Police are yet to speak with the 17-year-old red P-plate driver, who was airlifted to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The teens injuries range from minor to severe, with police now investigating if drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
The crash investigation unit is making inquiries.
