In the early hours of Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Asake released the remix to his chart-topping single ‘Lonely At The Top,’ with a surprising feature with Grammy-winning artiste H.E.R.
The fan-favourite song, which spent 13 weeks atop the Turntable Hot 100 charts, slowly warmed its way into the hearts of fans for its nostalgic beat and relatable lyrics.
On the remix, H.E.R’s vocals shine as Asake replaces the addictive choral background vocals with H.E.R’s melodies. Meanwhile, H.E.R. stays in tune with the song’s theme lyrically as she masterfully infuses pidgin English while delivering her lines. The best part of this single is that their vocals blend seamlessly.
Asake has had an impressive run in 2023, following the success of his sophomore album ‘Work of Art,’ the music star went on to sell the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena and also achieved a massive feat after he earned a Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for his hit single ‘Amapiano’ featuring Olamide.
