A mother has died in a house fire and a heroic neighbour rescued her two sons from the blaze in Perth's south-east.
Emergency services were called to a home in Roleystone before 2am. Mother-of-two Elizabeth Quijan did not make it out alive.
A neighbour rescued her sons, aged seven and nine, by smashing a window, but he was unable to find the Quijan.

"The two kids were on the inside banging on the fly screen door," Dirk Mathiessn told 9News.
"It was obviously deadlocked, they couldn't get through it. There's a window next to it and I just smashed it and got the kids."
Mathiesen then tried to find their mother.
"They were just screaming 'mum, mum' and I kept saying 'anybody else in there? Where is she?' and they kept pointing to a certain part of the house."
The two boys are now with their father, who wasn't home when the blaze broke out.
"We're speaking to the father at the minute, obviously he's distraught as expected," police said.
Arson squad detectives and forensic officers scoured through the rubble today. They believe the cause of the fire is not suspicious
