The 44-year-old driver of the ute was allegedly stabbed by a 27-year-old man, who could be seen on CCTV footage running from a second car.

The 44-year-old then allegedly hit the 27-year-old with his ute in an attempt to get away before driving himself to the Bankstown Police Station.

He arrived at Bankstown Hospital at 10.20pm.

At the same time, emergency services were called to The Avenue, Bankstown, where the 27-year-old was found injured on the road.

"He [the 27-year-old] was screaming when he was taken to the ambulance."

The 27-year-old has been charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to front court tomorrow.
