A Queensland father has been repeatedly slashed by machete-wielding men during a violent home invasion.
Steve Ngabunga was inside his house in Logan when three men, described as caucasian in appearance, stormed in about 7.30pm yesterday, police said.
Ngabunga said the trio broke in through the screen door and two of them had machetes. As they chased him around the unit, he was slashed at multiple times.

"I thought I was going to die," he told 9News after being released from hospital today.
When the men broke in, Ngabunga's roommate jumped off the second floor balcony and called triple zero.
Ngabunga tried to barricade himself in his bedroom.
"I went to close the foot but someone held the door open, and I said 'nah, I'm going to die here, there's nowhere to run'."

Somehow he made it to the other side of the unit and the intruders decided it was time to leave.
When they fled, Ngabunga grabbed his mobile phone and also called police. Paramedics arrived and stemmed the bleeding from his leg before taking him to hospital.
Ngabunga spent the night there and was discharged without major physical injuries, but said he is mentally scarred.
"I was very scared. Very scared even now … I'm not safe here."
No one has been arrested.
