Just days before Christmas, the large group took part in a dangerous mass ride.

Victoria Police Inspector Dean Allen alleged the riders were unregistered and some were unlicensed.

"It's really reckless, it's dangerous," he told 9News.

"They're performing acts such as monos burnouts, doughnuts, those types of activities and they're doing them on major arterial roads.

"Any slight deviation, or any slight accident has the potential to cause serious injury or even worse," Inspector Allen said.

The meet was organised online, with the riders travelling from the Tullamarine Freeway across the Bolte Bridge and towards St Kilda.

The riders filmed their antics across multiple lanes of traffic.

"It's outright dangerous."
