Ursula von der Leyen is set to announce she’s seeking a second term as the president of the European Commission on Monday.

The German Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party from which von der Leyen hails is meeting in Berlin this morning, where it will nominate Europe’s most powerful woman for another stint in the top job ahead of the June EU election, as reported by POLITICO’s Berlin and Brussels Playbooks.

Von der Leyen’s candidacy will be rubber-stamped by the European People’s Party (EPP) at its meeting in Bucharest next month.

Von der Leyen has been under mounting pressure to announce her candidacy plans for months, and has hinted at a possibility of a second term.

Now the wait seems to be almost over, with the CDU announcement and a press conference expected at around 12:30 p.m. Monday.
