A young thug who launched at a stranger, sparking a wild brawl outside Melbourne's Crown Casino has confessed to more violent attacks on the same night.

CCTV footage has been released of the rampage, showing the moment 19-year-old Levi Terepo lunged at a stranger who called him "gutless" for harassing a homeless man.

The footage shows Terepo's friends swarming on the man, punching and stomping on him for 15 seconds before leaving him to struggle back to his hotel with a fractured hip and ankle.

Terepo, now 21, has confessed to the violent outburst along with two others on the same night.

One of those, which took place about an hour later, was also captured on CCTV.

That footage shows him knocking another stranger to the ground inside the Crown food court and slapping a woman across the face after she tried to intervene

Terepo's lawyer partially blamed the offending on his troubled upbringing, telling the court he was just a silly young boy who turned to alcohol abuse.

Prosecutors are pushing for jail time, telling the judge that is the only appropriate sentence given the seriousness of the offending.

Terepo's lawyer said he's shown genuine remorse and is open to a rehabilitation program.

Two others, including Brisbane kickboxer Valiant Farquhar, have also pleaded guilty to their roles in the attacks.

They will be sentenced at a later date.
