In honour of Black Music Month, Tems took to the NPR Tiny Desk platform to deliver a live performance of a blend of her hits and yet-to-be-released singles, ‘Unfortunate’ and ‘Forever.’
The Grammy-winning star started her performance with her hit single ‘Me & U,’ where she allowed her vocals shine as she made iterations to the inspirational song that centres on her relationship with her faith. She also performs ‘Ice T,’ a song from her first EP, ‘For Broken Ears.’
Tems went on to give us a preview of songs off her debut album, ‘Born In The Wild,’ slated for release on June 7, 2024. She kicks off the second part of her set with a special song, ‘Unfortunate.’ which centres around her moving past a toxic relationship.
‘Forever,’ another single off her forthcoming album, showcases her vocals as she passionately sings on a funky beat that heightens the anticipation on the range to be expected on her upcoming album.
She wraps up her set with a performance of ‘Love Me Jeje,’ a single inspired by a Nigerian classic originally performed by Seyi Sodimu and Shaffy Bello.
