IT’S time to get blooming busy in the garden, giving the patio a glow-up in time for summer.
But although many may assume you need a fortune to jazz up the outdoor space for the BBQ parties ahead, one pro gardener has revealed how to achieve a snazzy patio on a budget.
Offering a helping hand to fellow green-fingered Brits, This Morning presenter Daisy Payne, shared easy ways that will make your boring patio look brand new – and these tips are purse-friendly too.
”Far too often our patios are left dull and uninspiring, when they should be central to our summers,” said Daisy in her new book, Start Growing.

As well as finding potted plants filled with flowers and shrubs -which you can snap up on the cheap at most garden centres – the whizz advised to decorate your patio with outdoor lighting.
Other budget-friendly items that can instantly add character to any patio include outdoor rugs, throw pillows or cushions, screens, trellises and planters.
How long you’re going to need?
This totally depends on the size of your patio – and whether you want to go all out or keep it simple and minimalist.
”I love entertaining and want to enjoy as much time as possible dining or relaxing in the garden.
”Don’t be afraid of livening up your patio – it will make your summer days so much brighter!”
Step 1
Once you’ve armed with all the necessary essentials for the jaw-dropping makeover, it’s time to get working!
”Place your chosen potted plants around the patio in groups or standing alone, paying special attention to how you mix height and colour.”
Step 2
Next, Daisy, who discovered the joys of gardening when she bought her first home, instructed to string up some candle lights – or adding stake lights on the table.
Step 3
Just as essential is creating cosy seating areas for you and your guests as you enjoy the glorious sunshine and boozy cocktails.
To make for a Fabulous experience, the ITV star recommended adding pops of colour – which can be achieved with vibrant accessories, such as cushions, pillows and outdoor rugs.

Chatting about her first-ever book, Daisy said: ”The very idea of the book in its essence is very personal to me too as you know – it’s the book I wish I had when starting out.
”When I’d never done any gardening before.”
She added: ”I just hope you’ll love it. I hope you’ll find the projects easy to follow.
”I hope it takes you all on a gardening journey; my gardening journey has been incredible so far.
”It’s got me through grief, heartbreak, health struggles… and I know it’ll get me through so much more in the future too,” she bravely opened up in a post on her Instagram page.
