A former country pub on the outskirts of Chipping is set to finally be converted into homes and holiday accommodation.

The Dog and Partridge has sat empty since 2018 when it stopped trading as a pub and restaurant.

Following planning approval in October 2023 for it to be converted into a house, six flats and four holiday lets, work will now begin on the project and is expected to take 12 months to complete.

The development has been brought forward by a joint venture partnership, Home Life Renovations, based in Preston.

The former pub and restaurant served the local community for many years.

Jake Suthers, whose firm The QS Company is carrying out the commercial management services for the development, said: “I am thrilled that following over two years of hard work, works on site will finally be commencing to regenerate this fantastic venue.

“The scheme has been designed carefully to respect the character of the local area and we look forward to bringing the former pub back into productive use.”
