Redditor Snake_blood recommended her remedy for sweat in a comment on the social media platform.

She responded to another Reddit user asking for advice on how to tackle a shiny complexion.

Her remedy is typically found on a summer camp packing list for reasons other than sweating.

However, her approach to using the staple works like a charm.

BEAT THE HEAT

She said one of the products she uses is calamine lotion.

“I have the same problem, it’s so embarrassing,” she said of sweating too much.

“Firstly, carry blotting sheets everywhere with you.

“Secondly, a real game-changer for me was using calamine as a face primer.

“Yes, just regular pink calamine lotion.

“It draws out any moisture all day and is absolutely amazing. Google it, it’s a thing.”

“Wow I never heard of that haha thank you,” the original poster replied.

WHY CALAMINE LOTION?

Typically, calamine lotion has been used as a home remedy to stop the itch from irritants like mosquito bites.

More recently, people have been using it on their skin — typically if it’s oily — for aesthetic reasons.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, calamine lotion is typically used for mild skin itchiness.

“Calamine lotion for poison ivy and other poisonous plants can help relieve the itch, along with any pain or discomfort,” they said.

“In addition, it can help dry up any oozing or weeping that can develop on your skin due to the irritation.”

The drying factor allows for faster healing.

However, many are turning to calamine lotion as a primer for oily skin.

Zinc oxide is the ingredient in the product that causes the drying effect.

Calamine is not only useful for beauty fans, but also for those looking to take a camping trip.

Tip to remove yellow sweat stains

Yellow armpit stains affects everyone, whether people care to admit to it or not. But there is help at hand. To remove yellow stains from your clothing, experts recommend the following methods:

  • Baking soda paste: The pros at The Laundry Cafe recommend mixing one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with one tablespoon of salt, and ½ cup of baking soda. Apply directly to the stain with a toothbrush, rub, and let the mixture sit for at least an hour, then wash as normal.
  • Oxygen bleach: This method is just as useful for removing yellow stains. Mix one part of oxygen-based bleach with one part of ammonia in a non-metal bowl. Wear gloves during this application. Rub into the fabric with a toothbrush and allow the solution to sit for at least ten minutes before laundering as normal.
  • Stain remover or detergent: Stains on collars can be stubborn to remove as armpit stains. So pretreat the area using a solvent-based stain-removing agent or detergent. Work the product into the collar with a toothbrush and allow it to sit for at least ten minutes before washing.
