An event in the Ribble Valley will see road closures for a parade this weekend.

Ribchester Field Day returns this Saturday, June 15, with a full programme of events for all the family to enjoy.

With the parade leaving Bee Mill, Preston Road, at 1pm, the main roads in and out of the village will be shut between about 12.45-2.15pm.

Motorists heading to the village from either Longridge or Blackburn directions will be diverted around the village, with the centre being closed off while the parade takes place.

The parade finishes at the local park on Church Street and there is a bumper list of events, entertainment, games, children’s rides and, for the first time this year, a bar for the adults to enjoy.

Anyone visiting to the event is advised to bring cash with them, although tokens for on-field games can be purchased via card readers on the field, and likewise the bar will take cashless payments.

On Saturday evening, there will be a kids disco from 6.30pm for about an hour, with popular local band Wild Aces playing in the marquee from 8.30pm. Entry to this last event is £5 on the door.

More information is available from the Ribchester Field Day Facebook page.
