"I think he wanted to kill me and take my car away."

Singh spent four days at the Alfred Hospital, his wounds requiring more than 30 stitches.

"I begged him that I have a family, and he replied that he's doing it for his family," Singh said.

Singh alleged the attacker produced another knife from his pocket before he managed to run from the home and raise the alarm.

He said since the attack he has not wanted to leave his house.

Singh warned other drivers to have their personal safety at the front of their minds.
