A cordon remains in place in Fulwood this afternoon with bomb disposal teams in attendance.

Police were called around lunchtime today (18 June) to reports that a suspicious package had been found on Watling Street Road in Fulwood.

Police closed the area with a cordon as a ‘precaution’ with EOD teams called to the scene to deal with the concern.

The advice continues to be to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for police said: “Just to let you know we are still dealing with the incident on Watling Street Road with our colleagues from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and a cordon remains in place.

“We would like to thank everyone for their patience and co-operation thus far and we will update you further when we can.”
