Commenting, Director Adam Smith said: “I am very honoured to again be directing this year’s summer play with St James Players and I am equally thrilled to be doing it with such a talented cast.”

The cast is an ensemble of local actors across all ages.

He went on to say: “It is always quite daunting when you are producing such a well-known story and with so many adaptations over the years, there’s a danger that the story can become tiresome, but Dickens’ tale of social class, ambition, love, and rejection is still relevant today and shows just why he’s considered one of the greatest novelists.”

“My main aim was to ensure that the production remains fast paced, humorous and engaging to new modern audiences whilst still staying true to the original story.”
