A busy road near Tarleton is closed this evening due to a crash.
Police are at the scene of a crash on Southport New Road in Tarleton and have warned that the road will be closed for some time. They reported the crash at around 6.45pm this evening (9 July).
An update from AA traffic says: “Road closed due to crash on A565 Southport New Road both ways from Blackgate Lane to A59 Windgate (Tarleton Traffic Lights). Traffic is coping well.”

A spokesperson for police said: “We’re currently at the scene of a road closure on Southport New Rd in Preston from the Jct with Liverpool Rd up to the Jct with Blackgate Ln.
“The road is closed due to a road traffic collision and we anticipate this will be closed for some time.
“We’ll provide an update once cleared and thank you in advance for your patience.”
