President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the death of the lawmaker representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State in the House of Representatives, Ekene Adams.
The President, in a statement on Tuesday, signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, consoled with the National Assembly over the death of the lawmaker.
As earlier reported by Naija News, Adams, died on Tuesday morning, 16th July 2024, after a brief illness. He was the chairman, House Committee on Sports until he passed away.
In his reaction, President Tinubu commiserated with the “National Assembly and the Kaduna State Government over the passing of Honourable Ekene Abubakar Adams, a lawmaker representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State in the House of Representatives.”
The President also extended his condolences to the family and friends of the late lawmaker, urging them to find solace in the Almighty and in the legacy of the deceased.
The statement added that President Tinubu prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed lawmaker and strength to his family.
Hon. Adams, a former general manager of Kada City FC and Remo Stars, was elected into the House of Representatives on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) in 2023.
The death of the Kaduna federal lawmaker is the second to hit the House within a week following the death of Hon. Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban) from Oyo State, who passed away on Wednesday, July 10.
