EuroAirport, located on the French-German-Swiss border, was evacuated and flights suspended Friday morning following a bomb threat.

Located near Basel (Switzerland), Mulhouse (France), and Freiburg (Germany), the passenger terminal was cleared after a bomb threat, EuroAirport told POLITICO.

France is on high alert for security threats as Paris enters Olympics opening weekend.

Friday morning, hundreds of thousands of travelers were hit by train delays and cancellations following what authorities described as “coordinated attacks of malicious intent.”

France’s Haut-Rhin police department told POLITICO that following the threat, “decontamination operations” are complete and air traffic is gradually resuming.

Media reports earlier on Friday indicated that the threat occurred on an Air France flight to Paris. However, the airline subsequently confirmed to POLITICO that there was not a bomb threat on an Air France flight and no plane was evacuated.
