Young girl in hospital after dog attack in Deepdale street

A heavy police presence is in a street in Deepdale following reports of a dog attack.

Preston Police has at least four crews in Raven Street.

Blog Preston has been sent pictures of the emergency services presence with reports of a ‘dog biting a young child’.

North West Ambulance Service is also pictured at the scene in Deepdale off Basil Street.

A police spokesperson confirmed they were called to reports of a girl being bitten by a dog.

A police spokesperson said: “At around 1:30pm on Tuesday 30th July we were called to reports of a girl bitten by a dog on Raven Street, Preston.

“Officers attended and the dog was seized.

“A girl was taken to hospital for treatment of dog bite injuries.”

The spokesperson added the seized dog was currently being ‘assessed’ and there is no indication of the breed of dog.

Blog Preston has contacted the North West Ambulance Service for further comment.
