Blog Preston today launches our revamped What’s On section, dedicated to showcasing arts and culture in the city.

The updated design – carried out by Preston-based agency 3manfactory – introduces a fresh look combined with new features to create a more user-friendly experience on the site.

The revamp was made possible thanks to the generous support of people and organisations in the city via our Crowdfund Lancashire appeal

During the crowdfunder, we promised to increase our arts and culture coverage and deliver an upgraded What’s On section. Having published over 100 arts, culture and events stories since we secured the funding – that’s almost one every day – we’re pleased to now be delivering on the second part of our campaign.

A key element to the upgrade is our brand new event listings.

For event seekers, this feature will make it easier to find out what’s on, inspiring you with ideas of things to see and do in the city. And organisers, you now have a way to quickly and easily put your event in front of the people of Preston, beyond your own website and socials.

Events can be filtered to help you find what you fancy from Arts & Culture, Eating & Drinking, Families & Kids, Music, Nightlife & Entertainment, and Sports & Wellness.

Co-editor Kate Rosindale, who leads on events and arts, said: “I’m really proud to share the new What’s On section with our readers, many of who helped make it happen with their generous crowdfunder contributions.

“3manfactory have done a brilliant job of modernising the look and feel, and creating an intuitive experience for anyone wanting to find out what’s on in Preston. And I love the fact our normally all blue and white website now has an array of colours – something I think reflects the growing vibrance of the arts, culture and events scene here in Preston.

“I’m excited to see how the submission form will empower individuals and organisations to share their events. I’m sure it will create a diverse and dynamic calendar that caters to all interests, helping to keep Prestonians informed about local events and building a stronger, more connected community.

“Finally, I’d like to say thank you on behalf of Team BP once again to everyone who supported our crowdfunder – we hope you see the new design and feel happy that you’ve played a part in it.”

This story was made possible by you, our readers, and a host of organisations in the city, through our Crowdfund Lancashire appeal, which unlocked support from the Lancashire Culture and Sport Fund provided by Lancashire County Council. You can see all our coverage and, if you know of an arts project or event in the city we should be covering, you can submit it for our event listings and/or send details to contactus@blogpreston.co.uk for us to cover it as a story on the Blog.
