A road connecting to the new Preston Western Distributor is to see its speed limit cut.

Lea Lane is currently 40mph but is ‘no longer considered safe’.

Lancashire County Council is consulting on changing the speed limit.

A statement said: “The construction of the new Preston Western Distributor Road has now cut off this section of road and a 40mph speed limit is no longer considered a safe or appropriate limit, given the new nature of this road.”

Under the proposal the road would become 30mph instead.

Any comments on the proposed change to Lea Lane should be sent to the county council on tro-consultation@lancashire.gov.uk, quoting ref:LSG4\894.19376\AFR, by 2nd August.
