The 3rd week in the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 9 house certainly went by fast but not without some major drama. Like our favourite Nigerian musicians, every day was a hit, and the housemates delivered back-to-back.

From the Live Eviction show that saw the NDI NNE duo leave the housemates to the challenges, wager preparation, and Saturday Night Gbedu, viewers were treated to the peak of reality TV drama.

Here’s a recap of everything that happened in the BBNaija House last week.

Sunday Night (After the Live Eviction Show)

After the eviction show that saw the Ndi Nne duo leave, a dramatic altercation took place in the house between Rhuthee and Wanni x Handi. This was after Ebuka’s probing questions about Rhuthee’s recent comments regarding Wanni which quickly escalated.

Shortly afterwards, the Custodian Challenge game was played by all the housemates and Wanni and Handi won the challenge and got immunity from evictions and the power to influence who stays on Sunday. This surprising outcome rattled Rhuthee a bit since she realised the power the twins now wielded.

Monday

Just when you thought things couldn’t get tougher for Rhuthee, Anita and Nelly won the majority vote for HoH after they pitched themselves to some key housemates.

The newly crowned Heads of House assigned Rhuthee and Chinwe to toilet and bathroom duty, a move that seemed especially pointed, given Nelly’s past confrontations with these two housemates.

One win wasn’t enough for the Nelita duo, the week’s Heads of House, as they also went for gold and won the immunity challenge.

This win saw them make history this season as the first Heads of House with immunity and earned them the nickname “Evil b*****” from the other housemates.

Tuesday

Nelly explained why she and Anita chose Chekas instead of their love interests, Aces as their guests as the temptation to be intimate would be too strong to handle and the HOH condo would have been the perfect setting to execute their plans. She was later seen apologising profusely to Sooj in the gym.

Handi spilt hot tea about Topher, who is supposedly in a relationship with Anita. She said he asked her out despite publicly claiming the ex-beauty queen, and at one point, even rubbed his leg against hers under the table while she was present.

There was also a major showdown between former HoH Ozee and current HoH Nelly which was a spillover of the one between Fairme and the Mbadiwe Twins about a joke made in bad taste.

The night ended with housemates spying on Chinwe and Zion who were having sex in the toilet.

Wednesday

During the Aquafina-sponsored task, Handi highlighted her past struggles with addiction and thanked her twin for helping her through the difficult phase of her life.

Nelly also had a major spat with Chinwe after she said she found a jewellery box that didn’t belong to her amongst her belongings and then asked other female housemates who owned it. It turned out the jewellery box belonged to Chinwe who went on to accuse Nelly of being a thief.

With it being Anita’s birthday, Topher went all out for his love interest. He made breakfast for her, got the housemates to serenade her with the birthday song and got her gorgeous flowers.

Thursday

Shaun opened up about Ocee confiding in him that he and Handi had a relationship before they joined the house and was relieved that he was with Wanni instead of being caught in that messy triangle. Handi acknowledged Shaun’s statement, adding that she wasn’t treated right by Ocee during their time together.

Rhuthee accused Mayor Frosh of only being with her because Nelly is tied up with Sooj to which he admitted that he did have feelings for her but reassured Rhuthee that his happiest moments in the house have been with her.

The night’s pool party was fun as they indulged in a night of carefree fun which they capped off with a game of truth or dare.

Onyeka ended up grinding on Sooj and Michky. Handi revealed it had been five months since she last had sex, while Mayor Frosh was dared to show his top five sex positions, choosing Onyeka as his willing partner after Rhuthee declined. Ozee was asked who he would start something with inside the house and he confessed it would be with Onyeka.

Friday

Rhuthee let tears flow in the diary room after Mayor Frosh confessed he’s got a soft spot for Nelly and Handi and said she felt disrespected.

The day also saw Biggie finally crack down on the rule-breaking housemates. Although they prepared well for their week 3 wager task presentation, they lost as a punishment for constant disregard for instructions, lateness, and general complacency.

Mayor Frosh and Handi had a steamy 10-second kiss during the truth or dare game and he had to do some serious damage control, consulting with Shaun, DJ Flo, and Handi before finally coming clean to Rhuthee, apologising.

Married couple, KellyRae and Kassia finally succumbed to their urges as they kissed passionately in the room while others were downstairs.

Saturday

Married couple, KellyRae and his wife had some tension between them after Toby offered Kassia a foot massage in the kitchen. She refused but still placed her feet on his, getting foot rubs while her husband was in the kitchen with them.

Afterwards, he pulled her aside and told her to steer clear of Toby Forge’s wandering hands and set boundaries.

Sooj treated Nelly to breakfast in bed and even had a backup choir featuring Anita, Ben, Kassia, Onyeka, and Victoria who serenaded her with ‘Dilemma’ by Nelly and Kelly Rowland.

The Chekas pair hit a rough patch when Onyeka didn’t hold back on critiquing Chizoba’s performance during the Rexona task. Thankfully, the Saturday Night Party hosted by DJ Neptune saw energy levels through the roof.

After the party, the pent-up tension between Rhuthee and Wanni x Handi finally blew with the biggest fight of the week. The twin pair had dropped a shady post-party comment that didn’t sit well with Rhuthee who called them out immediately.

Handi wasn’t having it and fired back, calling Rhuthee a “cockroach” and threatening to “squish” her. The shouting match escalated quickly, with the whole house stepping in to keep things from getting physical.

Sunday

Nelly and Sooj were seen in the early hours of Sunday kissing in the bathroom. She also said ‘I love you’ to him.

The Live Eviction show saw some surprise changes to the dynamics and rules of the game. Flourish, Streeze, Radicals and Beta were in the bottom four. The custodian power was revealed as Save Only and Wanni and Handi saved Beta.

The housemates voted and saved Radicals while Steeze and Floruish were then evicted from the show. It was surely a nerve-wrenching outcome filled with goodbyes and regret.
