SPECULATION is mounting among viewers of the Democratic National Convention over who will introduce presidential candidate Kamala Harris as she’s set to deliver her acceptance speech.
The DNC is approaching its home stretch as Vice President Harris will address the nation and thousands of delegates on Thursday evening on the convention’s final night.

The raucous crowd inside the United Center has witnessed a history-making week in Chicago as dozens of Democratic politicians and former presidents threw their support behind Harris – the first woman of African and Asian descent to accept a major party’s presidential nomination.
Celebrities also took the time to attend the event and publicly endorse the Harris campaign, including Oprah Winfrey, rapper Lil Jon, director Spike Lee, singer John Legend, and actress Mindy Kaling, among others.
But as the festivities, long endorsement speeches, and adrenaline rush are set to conclude on Thursday, spectators are growing anxious to see who will introduce Vice President Harris for her acceptance speech.
Viewers are carving up their lists for who the final speaker will be, and there are three names at the time – Ella Emhoff, the daughter of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and Queen Bey herself, Beyoncé.
‘EVERLASTING HONEYMOON’
Ella, 25, the youngest of Emhoff’s two children, has a close relationship with her stepmother and Vice President Harris.
She described the relationship between her biological mother, Kerstein Emhoff, her father, and Harris as a “three-person parenting squad,” Ella told The New York Times in 2021.
“With hair and tattoos and things like that, I think they’re all in the realm of like, ‘I don’t understand it, but I want you to be who you want to be,’” she told the outlet.
Ella and her brother, Cole, attended Joe Biden and Harris’ inauguration in Washington DC in 2021.
Cole, 29, introduced his father with a touching video about the second gentleman’s life, family, and relationship with Harris during Night 2 of the DNC.
Ella and Cole have admitted watching their dad in the national spotlight is strange.
“Yeah, it’s weird for us to see the change from going from this, like, normal, regular shmegular ‘Doug,’” Ella said.
She described her dad and Harris’ relationship as a “honeymoon forever phase.”
“It’s so insane,” she told The New York Times.
“It’s like the honeymoon phase forever. Like, the rest of the world gets to see it on social media, but we live that.”

Delegates from across the nation decended into Chicago's United Center to formally celebrate Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democrats presidential nominee.
DNC Night 1 highlights:
- Delegates showed an outpouring of gratitude for President Joe Biden, the Democratic incumbent who decided to end his reelection campaign on July 21, 2024, and pass the torch to his vice president to lead the nation.
- An emotional Biden, who wiped away tears as a raucous crowd chanted, “Thank you, Biden, delivered an emphatic speech that diverted past the scheduled primetime hour.
- Supporters praised the president for his 50-year career in public service that began in Delaware.
- “For 50 years, like many of you, I’ve given my heart and soul to our nation, and I’ve been blessed, a million times in return, with the support of the American people,” Biden said.
- Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton received a standing ovation as she called Kamala Harris and Tim Walz’s campaign “the future.”
DNC Night 2 highlights:
- Kamala Harris secured the Democratic nomination in a chaotic and gaffe-filled roll call during night 2 of the convention.
- Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham spoke at the DNC and said behind closed doors, Donald Trump would refer to his supporters as “basement dwellers.”
- Grisham was one of five Republicans to speak at the convention.
- The Obamas electrified the Chicago crowd, delivering keynote speeches one after the other.
- Former First Lady Michelle Obama gave a rousing speech blasting Trump as a racist and misogynist.
- Barack Obama, one of the most influential figures in the Democratic Party since leaving the Oval Office in 2017, called his successor a “whining and childish” billionaire.
DNC Night 3 highlights:
- Former President Bill Clinton delivered an enthusiastic speech to delegates, but his low-tone voice and thinning gray hair left supporters worried.
- Vice President nominee Tim Walz was cheered by his former high school football team he previously coached as he headlined Night 3 of the DNC.
- Walz, or “Coach” Walz as referred to by presidential candidate Kamala Harris, packed his 16-minute speech with football references, admitting to Democrats that they’re behind in the race.
- “It’s the fourth quarter. We’re down a field goal,” Walz said.
- “But we’re on offense, and we’ve got the ball. We’re driving down the field. And boy, do we have the right team.
- “We’re going to leave it on the field. That’s how we’ll keep moving forward.”
- Meanwhile, on the Republican side, Donald Trump held his first outdoor rally since he survived an attempted assassination while on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania on July 13.
- Trump delivered remarks to supporters in North Carolina behind a fortified bulletproof podium.
CALIFORNIA TIES
Gavin Newsom and Harris, 59, have shared a long friendship and similar experiences as native Californians.
Harris endorsed Newsom in the governor’s race in 2018 when he was a little-known politician out of San Francisco.
“Gavin and I have been friends for a very long time. We were friends before either of us held office,” Harris, a then-California senator, told Newsom supporters at the time.
Newsom, 56, was one of the first Democrats to throw his support behind Harris’ campaign after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection on July 21.
The California governor closed the ceremonial roll on during Night 2 of the DNC, delivering his 482 delegate votes that stamped Harris and Vice President nominee Tim Walz‘s campaign on the blue ticket.
“I saw that star get even bright as attorney general of California, as United States senator, and as vice president of the United States of America,” Newsom told delegates in Chicago on Tuesday.
“Kamala Harris has always done the right things, a champion for voting rights, civil rights, LGBTQ rights, the rights for women and girls.
“So, Democrats and independents, it’s time for us to do the right thing, and that is to elect Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States of America.”

Rumors that the R&B superstar Beyoncé will make a shocking DNC appearance have ramped up ever since the singer cleared her song Freedom for the Harris campaign.
Harris, an avid fan of Beyoncé, used the track from the singer’s Lemonade album during her first 2024 presidential campaign video on July 25.
“We choose freedom,” Harris says in the clip as it cuts to Beyoncé’s powerful chorus, “Freedom! Freedom! I can move / Freedom, cut me loose!”
Beyoncé has had a track record of attending and performing at high-profile Democratic events.
In 2013, Beyoncé sang the national anthem at the inauguration of President Barack Obama.
Then, in 2016, she and her husband, rap icon Jay-Z, performed at a pre-election concert for Hillary Clinton in Cleveland.
Last year, Harris and her husband Emhoff were pictured at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in Maryland.
Queen Bey gifted Harris and Emhoff the tickets, “Thanks for a fun date night, @Beyonce,” the vice president shared on Instagram.
