THE cops who detained Tyreek Hill on Sunday have revealed a new statement on the situation – and fans have requested more evidence concerning the matter.

The Miami Dolphins star wideout Hill, 30, was handcuffed by Miami police officers before the NFL team’s game with the Jacksonville Jaguars early Sunday morning.

Hill was pulled over for speeding and was detained after a “verbal altercation, per ESPN.

His Dolphins teammate Calais Campbell was also detained as both were eventually released by the cops and went on to play in Miami’s 20-17 victory over the Jaguars.

On Monday, the Miami-Dade police officers shared a statement that Hill was “uncooperative” and was “redirected” to the ground because he said no to orders telling him to sit.

The statement also added that Hill was never put under arrest.

“[Hill] was briefly detained for officer safety, after driving in a manner in which he was putting himself and others in great danger,” the president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association Steadman Stahl said in an X statement.

“Upon being stopped, Mr. Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on scene who, pursuant to policy and for their immediate safety, placed Mr. Hill in handcuffs,”

“Once the situation was sorted out with a few minutes, Mr. Hill was issued two traffic citations and was free to leave.”

The statement also added that they “stand with the actions of our officers.”

Videos showed Hill being placed in handcuffs and lying face-down on the ground while officers were around him.

The police’s statement has caused social media users to ask for bodycam footage of the sequence.

“Just release the body cam footage and everyone can judge for themselves. Thats the whole point for officers to wear them,” one said.

“Miami-Dade just needs to release the body cam footage,” another commented.

“Release the cam footage…we heard and saw what happened,” a third added.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that sources told him that Hill received citations for careless driving and a seatbelt violation.

After Sunday’s incident, it was revealed that the Miami-Dade Police department was placed on administrative duties while they investigate the situation.

Despite the unusual trip to the stadium, Hill recorded 130 yards and a touchdown.

After his 80-yard score, he took part in a viral celebration.

Dolphins teammate Jaylen Waddle pretended to uncuff Hill as the crowd cheered on the two.

Miami will have a short week for their next game as they will host the divisional rival Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football.
