It’s no news that Diddy is at the centre of one of the biggest bust-ups in the history of world entertainment. He’s broken the internet, more or less.

For our dear readers who are struggling to piece the entire story together, here’s a timeline breakdown of all that happened.

An indictment was put out and unsealed on September 17, 2024. It follows Diddy‘s arrest by federal agents in Manhattan on Monday.

He is being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and kidnapping. The indictment alleges that the rapper’s criminal activity began over a decade ago, spanning from 2008 to the present.

On the 23rd of November, his ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, filed a civil lawsuit accusing him of rape, physical abuse, and sex trafficking.

The suit was settled out of court, but many other women followed with similar claims.

Fast forward to March 2024, Federal agents raided Diddy’s properties in LA and Miami, uncovering evidence including narcotics and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil used in his “freak-off” parties, as well as electronic recordings that allegedly served as collateral, ensuring his victims’ compliance.

By May 2024, Surveillance footage of Diddy attacking Cassie in an L.A. hotel emerged, adding to the growing pile of legal issues.

Diddy was arrested at a hotel in NYC and charged with three felony counts: racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution on September 24

Federal prosecutors claim he ran a criminal enterprise through his music empire.

What are the Freak Offs organized by Diddy?

These were highly orchestrated sexual performances allegedly forced upon women. Prosecutors say the accused hosted “Freak-Off” parties, where women were coerced into sexual acts and blackmailed with recordings to ensure silence.

His defence team proposed a $50M bail package, including his Star Island mansion and his mother’s Miami home as collateral.

He also offered to wear a GPS monitor and restrict his travel to New York, New Jersey, and Florida. Despite the $50M bail proposal, the court denied Diddy’s release twice.

Prosecutors argued that he remains a flight risk and a danger to society due to the severity of the charges and his history of violence. He officially pleaded not guilty to all charges during his arraignment. His defence team is gearing up for what is expected to be a lengthy and highly publicized trial.

As of today, Diddy remains in custody. He is currently being detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, a federal facility, as he awaits his trial.

If convicted, Diddy could face a sentence of up to life in prison and a minimum of 15 years for the three felony counts: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
