Ten hospitalised after incident at Queensland military training base

Ten people have been taken to hospital after a military training incident involving Australian and Singaporean troops in Central Queensland.

9News understands two tanks – one Australian, one Singaporean – collided about 8.30pm today.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said the military took 10 patients to Rockhampton Airport, where they were met by ambulances and taken to hospital.

She said it was unclear whether there were anything more than minor injuries or if any Australians were among the patients.

The Australian Defence Force has been contacted for comment. 

Armed forces from Singapore and Australia have been conducting joint operations in the area as part of Exercise Wallaby.

The operations involve about 6200 personnel and 490 vehicles and other machines, and will continue until November 3, according to Singapore's Ministry of Defence.
