The police were able to track stolen vehicles with the help of the victims having GPS trackers in their cars.

They arrested two men, aged 26 and 36, and three women, aged 25, 31 and 57 on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.

They have all been bailed pending further enquiries.

Last week, Preston Police shared information about organised car thieves targeting Land Rovers and Range Rovers in the area.

In September, 15 in total were reported as stolen.

They advise anyone who owns this type of vehicle to ensure that they are taking advantage of the free security upgrade offered by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).

Owners eligible for a free security upgrade will have received a vehicle recall from JLR.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police on 101.
