A Preston pub is in the final four to be named as the best real-ale pub in the country.
The Campaign for Real Ale’s pub of the year competition has seen The Black Horse in Friargate progress to the final round.
It was one of 17 regional winners put through into the national competition and now stands a chance of being the UK’s best.

The grade-II listed pub is the only one to have three entrances on three different streets and has ‘fantastic examples of Victorian architecture and retains original fittings from the era’.
All the pubs are selected by CAMRA volunteers and judged on their atmosphere, décor, welcome, service, value for money, customer mix and the quality of beer.
The Black Horse is up against the Three B’s in Bridlington, Little Green Dragon in Winchmore Hill and the Bailey Head in Oswestry to be crowned as CAMRA’s winner. The winner will be announced in January.
