Are you excited for Halloween in Montreal? Or are you haunted by memories of trekking through snow to get your treats (and tricks), wearing costumes on top of bulky jackets and tripping over piles of winter boots to get into parties?

To help you prepare for this year’s spooky festivities, we’ve summoned all-knowing spirits (meteorologists) and consulted our trusty crystal ball (the Montreal weather forecast) so you have all the information you need to make the most of your plans.

So far, it looks like good news. No snow is expected to dampen your Halloween plans on October 31! However, you’ll probably want to throw on a light jacket (and convince your little ghouls and goblins to do the same).

According to The Weather Network’s 14-day forecast, temperatures on October 31 are expected to reach a high of 12 C and a low of 7 C, but it will feel more like 4 degrees at night.

While rain is possible, the entire day is expected to be mainly sunny and clear with a “low chance of showers.”

For those celebrating Halloween on the weekend instead of Thursday, the weather on Friday, November 1 is shaping up similarly with highs of 12 C and lows of 8 C, although clouds and scattered showers may crash the party so don’t rely on outdoor activities.

According to Environment Canada, Montreal’s average maximum temperature on October 31 is 9 C and the average minimum temperature is zero degrees — but outliers have included a high of 21.1 C in 1956 and a low of -8 C in 1992.

Happy Halloween!
