Leyland-based pumpkin patch promises fun for all the family

A Leyland farm is open each weekend until Sunday 27 October 2024 for pumpkin picking and family fun.

Paul’s Farm Pumpkin Patch is offering face painting, spooky shopping, photo opportunities and, of course, a free tractor and trailer ride to the pumpkin patch to choose your perfect pumpkin.

Kevin aka ‘Farmer Kev’, whose family own and run Paul’s Farm, said: “At Paul’s Farm Pumpkin Patch we’re committed to offering great value for money, helping our visitors to enjoy an authentic farm experience – including optional mud and muck.”

Located off Dunkirk Lane, the family-run farm is hosting a mobile bar and food options from the Flying Pig Pizza Company, Tucker Box, and Feisty Cow.

One of the most important things to the family behind the farm is charity. This year, they have partnered with the Rainbow Hub, a local charity that provides therapeutic services for children and young people with physical disabilities because of a neurological condition or child brain injury.

Another important factor for the farm is teaching children and young people about the benefits of spending time outdoors and embracing nature.

Talons Birds of Prey will be in attendance this year and Paul’s Farm Honeybees will be making an appearance. Farm-goers will have the opportunity to get close to birds of prey as well as learn about how the bees make the pumpkin patch possible.

Leyland Hedgehog Rescue will also be joining in the fun during the final weekend, teaching children all about these endangered countryside creatures.

Kevin added: “At Paul’s Farm Pumpkin Patch, we continually strive to strike a balance between fun and countryside education wherever we can. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to show visitors how things grow and to explain the importance of the ecosystem that helps to support that process.

“Who knows, a visit to the pumpkin patch might just help to inspire one of our young visitors to consider a future life in farming.”
