Firefighters have brought a fire at a commercial unit at Preston Docks under control.
Chain Caul Way was closed throughout Thursday (31 October) evening due to the building ‘containing cylinders’ which saw Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service put a cordon in place.
Six fire engines, a drone, a firefighting robot and aerial ladder platform were in attendance following the fire beginning shortly before 6.30pm.

The fire service said as of 9pm they had reduced the number of crews at the scene to three.
A spokesperson said: “This is because the fire has been brought under control but firefighters will continue to monitor the temperature of the cylinders throughout the evening.”
Chief fire officer Justin Johnson said: “Embracing technology. Keeping firefighters safe from acetylene cylinders in an industrial fire with a firefighting robot while live streaming from our drone team to the site team and further afield. This is a live incident in Preston.”
