President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointment Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, as the acting Chief of Army Staff.
The presidency in statement, said Oluyede will hold sway, as the chief of army staff; pending the return of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, who is said to be indisposed and is receiving treatment abroad.

A Kaduna doctor, Ganiyat Popoola, who was abducted on December 27th alongside her husband and nephew, has been released by her abductors.
